Recovery from Chinese New Year Diarrhoea

What's the colour of the day?? Errrr, poo I mean.....Poor mummy had diarrhoea for the next 5 days after the 'yu sheng'! She finally recovered today. After this as she was really scared of getting diarrhoea again, she didn't dare to drink cold stuff, eat anything that was raw and even cooked food that has been cooled down for a long time, she didn't dare to eat. This was to avoid getting diarrhoea again. Mummy sure didn't have an easy time having me.

Chinese New Year Day

Daddy & mummy started Chinese New Year Day feeling very tired. Daddy couldn't sleep because of the fire crackers that were going off until very early in the morning! Mummy wasn't well because the air-con at Grandparent's house was blowing directly at her head. Her throat became dry and she developed a cough on CNY day! Thank God, grandma said they were having steam boat for lunch. That was great! At least mummy would be able to eat and not worry about the food being oily. Anyway, as daddy wasn't able to sleep well the previous night, due to the fire crackers, he decided to return to Singapore today instead of staying on until 2nd day of CNY.

But the day just got worst! Daddy & mummy stayed at my grandparent's house to watch the last episode of the amazing race. After that, just as they were going to great-grandmother's house to 'bai nien', grandma came back to say that she was going to cook lunch instead. This is because grandma's brother was coming to visit and she was afraid the steam boat would not have enough to go around, and they were also afraid that the restaurants would be crowded.

Daddy & mummy went to great-grandma's house at 12pm to 'bai nien' and came back about 1pm. Lunch was still not ready! Daddy asked what time lunch would be ready and was told it would be 1.30pm. Mummy said she could wait 1/2 hour, even though she was quite hungry already. Mummy waited for lunch while daddy went to take a nap as he would be driving back to Singapore. After 1/2 hour, Aunt Sharon said that they should go check out if the restaurants are really crowded. So she and grandpa went to check out the restaurant as well as meet grandma's brother who had arrived at the city square but did not know the way to the house. Aunty Sharon called back to tell grandma that the restaurant had space, so it was decided to go there for lunch instead.

After waiting for 45 minutes, the lunch and venue was changed again! Grandma told mummy to eat some snacks that she had prepared, to hold hunger at bay. By then, mummy was really hungry and went into the kitchen to find that what was available, was deep fried wantons!!! Poor mummy!!! She tried to eat those wantons that were stacked on another wanton, so that the oil would have drained onto the wanton below. Mummy woke daddy up and by the time they had to the restaurant, it was already 2pm! After ordering, the food came in another 15 minutes time. The 1st dish was 'yu sheng'. Mummy decided not to eat the raw fish, but thought it was fine to eat the vegetables. Lunch finished around 3.30pm. Everyone proceeded back to grandpa's house again.

We were packed and ready to leave by 4pm. We got back to Singapore by 6pm. After we arrived home, mummy's diarrhoea started again! And she realized that it was a mistake to have eaten the vegetables from the 'yu sheng' that contained raw fish!! Daddy developed a fever too, which mummy found out when they reached home. After mummy had emptied her bowels, she went out to buy Burger King while daddy stayed home to rest. All in all, it was a miserable Chinese New Year celebration for mummy!

Chinese New Year Eve

Today is Chinese New Year Eve! Mummy is finally recovered from her diarrhoea. To recap what happened, mummy was finally able to clear her bowels again on Sunday & Monday. Because she couldn't go to the toilet on Saturday after taking the medication, she decided that she was not going to take any more diarrhoea medicine. So her diarrhoea finally stopped on Monday evening, just in time for Chinese New Year.

I am going travelling today! "Where?" You ask. I am going with daddy & mummy to Kluang. We reached Kluang just in time for lunch. Poor mummy didn't have much food to eat as grandma prepared mostly deep fried dishes for lunch. As mummy had just recovered from diarrhoea, she was afraid to eat the oily dishes in case her diarrhoea started again.

For dinner, we went over to great-grandma's house. Again mummy couldn't eat many of the dishes as they were quite oily. So because of me, don't think mummy had a great reunion lunch/dinner.

End of the Diarrhoea or maybe not?

After taking the diarrhoea medication on Thursday & Friday, mummy stopped having diarrhoea today. But she was still complaining of a tummyache! Poor mummy was doubled over on the bed with the tummyache. I could hear her praying that she could go to the toilet to clear her bowels, so that she wouldn't have the tummyache.

She stopped taking her diarrhoea medicine today in the hope that the medicine effect would wear off.

On-going Diarrhoea & Visit to the Gynae Again

Mummy continued having diarrhoea from Tuesday night to today. When she saw Dr. Lim, she told Dr. Lim about it and Dr. Lim prescribed some diarrhoea medicination for her to take. Dr. Lim did an ultrasound to show mummy that I was still growing well. Thank God, mummy's diarrhoea was not affecting me as I do not take my nutrients from her yet.

Diarrhoea

Mummy had dinner at Marche today. She ate a ceasar salad. And that was the start of her nightmare! She started having diarrhoea that very night. As mummy was due to see the gynae on Thursday, she decided to wait until then to check what kind of medication she could take for the diarrhoea.
