Dad Dad

I surprised mummy by babbling," Dad, dad." Mummy excited called daddy to tell him. Mummy asked me to call "mum-my" too. But that is too difficult for my little tongue to pronounce. I didn't want mummy to be jealous, so I called everything 'dad dad' instead of just calling daddy that. I even called the toy frog 'dad dad' and that really amused mummy.

My 1st Dive off the Sofa

Today is my 1st day back from New Zealand, and boy was it hot! Mummy brought me downstairs to the living room and both of us were sweating! Mummy placed me on the sofa and turned her back to turn on the air-con. I looked at the floor which looked inviting cool, and dived off the sofa into that inviting coolness!

That was a huge mistake! I hit the floor with my right forehead and it was really painful! I cried very loudly and mummy quickly came and plucked me off from the floor. She comforted me and kissed the painful area to make it better. I cried for a few minutes as I was upset with the floor for causing me pain!

We then went over to Dr. Steven's house, his house is just diagonal to ours. Dr. Steven told mummy what are the signs to look out for, in case I suffer bad after-effects from the fall. When I saw Dr. Steven, I was kind of worried as I remembered that the last time I saw him, it was to get a jab. I remembered doctor saying that is the Pneumococcal Vacine, but I sure hate getting jabs. It took me a while to be convinced that I was not getting a jab that day, and before I allowed Dr. Steven to carry me without fussing.

Mummy spent the rest of the observing me and she was very thankful that I did not exhibit any of those signs that Dr. Steven had warned her off. And all I had was a blue-black spot on my right forehead, my battle scar!

Traveling back from New Zealand to Singapore

This morning, we leave Novotel Palmerston North & make our way to the airport. We are going to catch a domestic flight from Palmerston North to Auckland, before catching our flight back to Singapore. We drop off our rented car at the Hertz parking lot, then proceeded to the terminal to do our flight check-in.

We reach the Auckland domestic airport & decide to take a short walk from the domestic terminal to the international terminal. Pretty soon, it was time to board our plane. Here I am making myself comfortable on Mummy's seat after take-off.

Mummy managed to convince me to play in my bassinet. But don't let the pictures fool you. I was only in there for a while!

We landed in Singapore airport 10 hours later. The weather here is really hot as compared to New Zealand. And this marks the end of my New Zealand adventure.

Day 3 in Palmerston North (New Zealand)

Today Mummy brought us to Owlcatraz, which is native bird & wild life park. As the name implies, there are owls to be seen there. Unfortunately, as we reach there, it started raining. The tour started with the owl's inhabitat, that was fine as it was indoors. But then we proceeded onto the outdoors to look at the animals in the park. Because of the rain, some parts of the paths became wet & muddy. Pretty soon, everyone voted to head back to the visitor's office. Once there, it started to rain quite heavily. Hence, we decide to wait in the visitor's office for the rain to lighten up before hopping into the car. There is a parrot at the visitor's office & Mummy brought me to look at the parrot.

When the rain lightened up, we left & headed back into the town. The rest of the day was spent doing.....what else....but shopping!

That evening, all of us headed out to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. Then it was back to the hotel. After Mummy put me to bed, she packed the luggages as we will be taking the morning flight back tomorrow.

Day 2 in Palmerston North (New Zealand)

Today, we are on the quest for a close up look at the wind farm. We drop by the visitor's centre to get directions on how to get there, then we are off. After 1/2 an hour's drive, we finally get there & take lots of pictures while there.

We leave & head back to town. Then we split from the grandparents to do our own shopping while they do theirs. One of the spoils from our shopping....a little lion for me.

Then we head off to Steak Out with Gong Gong & Por Por. Gong Gong, Daddy & Mummy all ordered the steak there. Por Por had the fish as she didn't eat beef. As usual, I took my time to deliberate over the menu.

Mummy says that is the best steak she has eaten!

Back at the hotel, it is time for me to take my bath.

Then it is time for my beauty sleep...zzzzzzzz.

Day 4 - Moving from Napier to Palmerston North (New Zealand)

This morning, we wake up & have breakfast. After taking some shots of the cottage that we stayed in, it is time to hit the road!

Enroute to our hotel in Palmerston North, we stop at the wind farm viewing point to take some pictures.

We finally reach Novotel Palmerston North. This is the hotel that we will be staying in for the next 2 nights. We leave our luggage in the room & head out to get some lunch. As it is my 1st time at this Vietnamese restaurant, it took me a long time to decide what to eat!

After lunch, I went shopping with Daddy & Mummy. Then it was back to the hotel for a rest, then we headed to Fisherman's Wharf (a seafood restaurant) for dinner.

Day 3 in Napier (New Zealand)

Mummy is bringing us for a wine tour today. I wonder if I am the youngest baby to go on a wine tour? We reach there to find that we are in between tours, so Mummy suggested that we should go to a chocolate factory & watch them make chocolate. Hence, we went to the chocolate factory 1st. There were many yummy-licious chocolates there. But Mummy says I'm too young to eat any of them! Aw shucks, Mom!

We had lunch there too, then it was off to Church Road Winery for the wine tour. As Mummy had been here before, she didn't take any photos during the tour. She only took some pictures of the nice autumn scenary outside.

After the wine tour, we went to town to pick Daddy up. He decided not to join us for the tour & headed into Napier town to do some shopping. On the way back, we spotted a rainbow.

Mummy decides to take a picture of the cottage that we stayed in at night.

And back at the cottage, with boundless energy still left, I decide to show off my lean & stand skill.
