Mummy arrived at Tow Yung clinic, and had her weight measured and urine taken for the gestation diabetes test. I could sense mummy's nervousness while she waited for her turn to see Dr. Lim.
My 1st view of Dr. Lim was that he looked old enough to be my grandpa! Dr. Lim scanned mummy's tummy and tried to check if I was present. But as I was really tiny then, even the machine couldn't detect my presence.
Dr. Lim then sent mummy off to the laboratory to do a pregnancy test. The laboratory took some urine from mummy and the test result came back negative! Mummy's face fell when she saw the negative test result! I wanted to console mummy and tell her that I am present, but she was unable to hear me.
Dr. Lim saw the test results and told mummy to come back in one week's time.
That night, mummy was in dilemma as to whether to tell daddy or not. As mummy had a cell group meeting that night, she decided to go for the cell group first. At the meeting, Aunty Karen (mother of 3 children) was there and mummy decided to ask her for advise. Mummy shared about what had happened with aunty Karen.
Aunty Karen related her friend's pregnancy story. This friend went for the laboratory test twice and results came back negative! But she was pregnant and eventually gave birth to twins!
With that story, mummy had renewed hope and decided to share with daddy about what had happened! "Thanks! Aunty Karen!"
When mummy got home, mummy shared with daddy what had happened. Daddy asked mummy to immediately test again with the clearblue. But mummy gave all kinds of excuses not to test again. I think mummy was secretly afraid that the positive clearblue result was a fluke, and she was afraid to confirm it by doing a second test. So she convinced daddy to wait for the next gynae's visit.
